Maintaining integrated circuits is a significant task due to the numerous and densely packed pins. Disassembling them can be challenging and may even damage the integrated circuit or the circuit board. Hongyunlai Electronics, drawing from years of experience, has developed several effective methods for disassembling integrated circuits that can be useful for your reference.
1. Multi-Strand Copper Wire Tin Suction Method:
This method involves using multiple strands of copper core wire. First, remove the plastic insulation from the wire. You can use short pieces of strand copper wire for this process. Before using it, coat the multiple strands with a rosin alcohol solution. Heat the soldering iron, then apply the copper wire to the pin of the integrated circuit. The heat will cause the solder to adhere to the copper wire. Cut off the portion of the wire that has absorbed the solder, and repeat the process until all the solder on the pin has been removed. If possible, you can also use braided wire from shielded wire. Once the solder is cleared, gently pry the integrated circuit off with tweezers or a small flathead screwdriver.
2. Suction Tin Disassembly Method:
This is a common professional method for disassembling integrated circuits using a solder sucker, which is a dual-purpose electric soldering iron with a power rating of over 35W. To remove the integrated circuit, place the heated tip of the soldering iron on the pin to be detached. Once the solder has melted, it will be drawn into the suction device. After removing the solder from all the pins, the integrated circuit can be easily lifted off.

3. Increased Solder Melting Disassembly Method:
This method is relatively straightforward and efficient. Begin by adding some solder to the pins of the integrated circuit you want to remove. This connects the solder joints of each column of pins, enhancing heat transfer and facilitating disassembly. Use a soldering iron to heat each row of pins while gently prying them with pointed tweezers or a small flathead screwdriver. Alternate heating both rows of pins until they are detached. Typically, heating each column of pins twice is sufficient for removal.
4. Medical Hollow Needle Disassembly Method:
Gather a few hollow medical needles, sized 8 to 12. When in use, the hollow part of the needle should fit snugly over the pin of the integrated circuit. Heat the pin with the soldering iron until the solder melts, then quickly place the needle over the pin. After removing the soldering iron, rotate the needle and pull it out once the solder has solidified. This method ensures that the pin separates completely from the printed circuit board. Repeat this process for all pins, and the integrated circuit will be easily removed.
5. Electric Soldering Iron Brush Disassembly Method:
This method is simple and effective. You will need a soldering iron and a small brush. Begin by heating the soldering iron to the melting temperature. Once ready, place the soldering iron on the pin to melt the solder, then use the brush to sweep away the melted solder. This will help separate the pin from the printed circuit board. You can perform this step on each pin individually, and finally, pry the integrated circuit off using pointed tweezers or a small flathead screwdriver.
