Car battery charging devices supply direct current (DC) to recharge batteries and restore spent electrolyte. These systems not only enhance safety and introduce new features but also reduce the risk of battery failure, ensuring a reliable power supply for all vehicle components. It is essential for these components to function properly, and automotive battery charging systems must withstand harsh environments, including extreme temperatures, humidity, rain, acid smoke, vibrations, electromagnetic interference (EMI), and current surges.
When designing a car battery charging PCB (Printed Circuit Board), several factors must be considered, including inductor orientation, lead coupling, grounding vias, and fill areas. The orientation of inductors should allow for maximum spacing, and they should be arranged at right angles. Comprehensive grounding should be placed beneath leads, and the through holes in sensitive areas should accommodate inductance modules. Additionally, continuous ground impedance should be maintained in terms of grounding and filling, with the filling line terminals grounded using an array of through holes.
