1. Component check

When a product needs to be repaired in the SMT chip processing plant, the first step is to determine whether there are any errors, leaks, inversions, or fake materials in the components of each solder joint. It is also necessary to confirm the authenticity of the materials. Eliminating errors, leaks, inversions, and fake materials can help obtain a faulty circuit board. The circuit board should be checked to ensure that it is intact and that the components are inserted correctly and not burned out.

2. Welding status analysis

The defects of the circuit board are 80% related to the defects of the solder joints. Therefore, the quality system management standards of ISO9001 and various SMT processing welding quality standards should be referred to check for defective welding, false welding, short circuits, and other visible defects. If any of these issues are present, the product needs to be repaired.

3. Component orientation detection

After eliminating some visual defects, it is important to carefully check the orientation of diodes, electrolytic capacitors, and other commonly used components on the circuit board. It is necessary to ensure that the components are inserted in the correct direction.

4. Parts tool inspection

If there are no apparent problems, auxiliary tools such as a multimeter should be used to directly measure the resistance, capacitance, transistors, and other components. It is important to check the resistance value of these components and make sure it meets the normal value. It is also necessary to check whether the capacitor is open and whether the inductance is open, etc.

5. Power-on test

After completing the above processes, conventional problems of the parts are eliminated. After turning on the power, it is necessary to check whether the circuit board is damaged by ablation due to a short circuit or bridging. The power should be turned on to check whether the corresponding function of the circuit board is normal.
