In the electronics business, printed circuit board (PCB) and printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) are key words. Although they are sometimes used interchangeably, they are two different entities.
The primary distinction between these two names is that a PCB is a blank circuit board, but a PCBA is a board that has every electronic component required for the board to perform as intended. A PCBA is a complete and working board, whereas a PCB is not yet functional since it lacks the necessary parts. A PCBA is constructed on top of an existing PCB; PCBs and PCBAs are two distinct components of the same process.
What Is a PCB?
PCBs are the building blocks of contemporary electronics. Electronic components are connected electrically and supported mechanically by them. The boards themselves are constructed from laminate materials, like fiberglass or composite epoxy, and have electrical pathways running through them to connect the various components. The predefined PCB design is followed while printing or inscribing these paths into the board.
PCBs supply the electrical connections between components as well as the mechanical framework for mounting components. Everything from basic electronics like toys to sophisticated gadgets like computers and cellphones runs on them. An electrical product's performance, dependability, and manufactureability all depend on its PCB design.
What Is the Definition of PCBA?
A PCBA is a finished PCB assembly that has all of the electronic components required to make the board function as intended, whereas PCB refers to a blank board. The term PCBA can also describe the procedure used to put the board together using the required parts.
By connecting electrical components onto the PCB, a printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) advances the PCB. A working electronic circuit is created by the PCBA by integrating genuine components with the support framework and connections formed by the PCB.

PCB refers to the circuit board and PCBA refers to the circuit board plug-in assembly, added SMT and DIP process. PCB is a bare board and PCBA is a finished board.
PCB is called a “printed circuit board.” It is made of a glass epoxy resin material. According to the number of signal layers, it is divided into 4, 6, and 8 layers. The most common are 4 layer and 6 layer PCBs. Patch components such as chips will be mounted on to the PCB.
PCBA may be understood as a finished circuit board and PCBA can only be counted after the assembly on the circuit board are completed.
PCBA=Printed Circuit Board +Assembly. In other words, the PCB blank board goes through the SMT and then goes through the entire process of the DIP plug-in, abbreviated as PCBA.
