The basic principle of ultrasonic cleaning is the "cavitation effect". The cleaning liquid flows and generates tens of thousands of tiny air bubbles. The bubbles constantly bombard the surface of the object to be cleaned, and can clean the pores, recesses or other of the object to be cleaned. The concealed place is cleaned, so that the pollutants on the surface and gaps of the objects to be washed off quickly.

You will need to use a machine made especially for cleaning printed circuit boards in order to apply the ultrasonic cleaning approach. To start, soak the board in ethyl alcohol to remove any excess solder, impurities, and dirt.

After that, submerge the board into the ultrasonic device's cleaning solution bath. High-frequency sound waves are released into the cleaning solution bath by the equipment. A process known as "cavitation" causes billions of bubbles to form, and when they rupture, the bubbles physically remove any unwanted ingredients and residue.

If your boards are really dense and intricate, with many different components, we would suggest using the ultrasonic cleaning approach. This is due to the fact that every exposed surface will be reached by the billions of small bubbles.

The high-frequency sound waves could, however, have the unintended consequence of destroying some of the components or connections. However, if you are working with really dense boards that are impossible to thoroughly clean with a manual brush, we would still advise using the ultrasonic cleaning approach.
